Wheelchair Bodybuilding is relatively new with shows dating as far back as 1994. As time went on only a few amount of people knew that competitions for wheelchair bodybuilders even existed.

"Chariots of Destiny" is an organisation based in Nairobi, Kenya. It was started by Casey Marenge to create a much-needed difference in the transport sector for people living with physical disabilities.

After a tragic road accident left Casey quadriplegic [paralyzed from the shoulders down] , and fully dependent on a wheelchair,

Casey saw the need to start Chariots of destiny with the aim to provide wheelchair accessible vehicles that would facilitate in the transportation of people on wheelchairs as well as those with physical disabilities.

Action sports such as motocross, skiing, snowboarding, skateboarding and BMX have become an important part of the fabric that is our youth-oriented society. More and more people are entering this world on a daily basis for a variety of reasons. Some are just looking for an interesting way to get exercise; some are finding a way to quench their thirst for an adrenaline rush and still others are looking for fame and fortune. Whatever the motive, everyone of these participants faces potentially significant and life altering risks everyday.

We believe that everyone that participates in action sports deserves to have a foundation in place that will provide a solid source of support to help those injured and in need. Stand Strong Again is desgined to be that foundation.

The Mike Utley Foundation organizes many fundraisers throughout the year. Without the help of sponsors and volunteers these events would not be the success that they are.

The Determined2heal Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit foundation. The foundation was created after Josh Basile, a Maryland teenager, suffered a spinal cord injury in Bethany Beach, Delaware during the summer of 2004. The accident left Josh, a former college tennis player, paralyzed from the shoulders down. His experiences motivated him to make a difference in the lives of others.

The Todd Crawford Foundation was started in August of 2006 with the purpose of raising money for spinal cord injury (SCI) research. I was injured in August of 2002. In the four years between my injury and the creation of the Foundation I received a tremendous amount of support from my family and friends. Much of the support came in the form of money raised through various fund raisers. I have been able to accomplish many things since then because of this support. I am extremely grateful for this. Now I want to use the momentum of this support and direct it towards research on SCI. This research is a immensely important to me and millions of others around the world.

Our mission is to unite and empower those physically disabled by paralysis, their families, and their supporters.  We commit our skills to provide resources, tools, information and activities to strengthen the cure movement, with a particular focus on helping those physically disabled by paralysis to advocate for themselves.  We further pledge to support the efforts of other organizations committed to the same objectives. We are committed to a “fight to the finish” that will bring full recovery to victims of paralysis.

Each year an estimated 500,000 persons sustain brain and spinal cord injuries in the United States. The most frequent causes of these injuries are motor vehicle crashes, falls, sports and recreation, especially diving, and violence. Children and teens are at high-risk for these devastating injuries, many of which are preventable. ThinkFirst, the National Injury Prevention Programs award-winning public education efforts target this high-risk age group.

The PEI Council of the Disabled was formed in 1974 by concerned people with disabilities. Its original mandate was to speak out on issues such as housing, education, employment, transportation, human rights and access to support services, all of which it continues to address today.
